Stability!
Welcome to the Stability component of Cookie Aloha’s S.A.F.E. Spine training program! Cookie calls the four Stability principles ‘The path of the Royal Palm’. The Path of the Royal Palm has 4 components that help you Contemplate the question ‘Is my spine S.A.F.E.?’ very deeply. when you develop the skills of the path of the Royal Palm you are living at a high level of strength, suppleness, and powerful posture and movement! Here are the four parts;
1) Not too stiff, not too loose – Strong, supple, and powerful.
2) Find your balance.
3) Get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep every night you can!
4) Drink a lot of water!
Although these four parts of the Path of the Royal Palm may seem very simple, they are really advanced practices for the skillful creation of a S.A.F.E. spine. We avoid doing them at our peril, Cookie once told me. The proof is in the doing. Cookie used to say, ‘ Learning equals behavior change. If you haven’t changed your behavior, you’ve failed to learn’. When I asked her what we should do when we blow it and fail to follow through, she told me ‘ There isn;t any failure. There’s only feedback. When you blow it, in life, health, relationships, or money, take fresh stock of where you are and what you’ve learned, and get back in the game!’ I’ll be expanding on Cookie’s Path of the Royal Palm in the near future.
